Bar and cradle compatibility
A winch needs a bar or cradle designed to accept it, with the correct mount pattern and fairlead aperture. Confirm the winch model before ordering the bar.
Electrical capacity
Winching draws heavy current. Battery condition, cable sizing and isolation all need to be assessed as part of the install.
Safe practice
Use rated recovery equipment, keep bystanders clear, and use a dampener on the line. Recovery is the highest-risk activity most 4WD owners perform.
